Olmert warns the Palestinians against terrorism
Palestine-Israel, Politics, 8/15/2005
The Israeli deputy prime minister Ehud Olmert warned the Palestinians from resorting to what he called "terrorism."
In statements to the Israeli TV, Olmert stressed on Palestinians the need not to act as if Israel's withdrawal from Gaza was the result of a surrender to Palestinian militants, stressing that Israel will fight terrorism, regardless to its source.
Worth noting that some Israelis, have great fear that their pullout of their presence from Gaza will be seen and portrayed by Palestinians and others, as a victory that was the result of the Palestinian armed resistance against the Israeli occupation. Also, on the Palestinian sides, there is concern over the need not to further inflame Israeli public opinion, due to potential effects on the future pullouts.
He added that Israel considers that Israel should not stay in Gaza to fight terrorism, and does not need 10,000 settlers to fight it, because the Palestinians are the target of this terrorism, noting that the military revenge operations will take place in case Israel is attacked after this withdrawal.
