Targeting Americans in Iraq

The American army announced the killing of its soldiers and wounding of other two during the three past days, thereby the number of persons killed since last Thursday increased to 10 soldiers.

The American army said in a statement that one soldier was killed and other four were injured in a bomb explosion against their convoy in Rutbeh area, west Iraq, on the main road leading to the Jordanian borders.

An earlier statement by the American army said that three soldiers were killed and a fourth was injured in a bomb explosion against their vehicle near Touz on Friday evening, while another soldier was killed following another bomb explosion in west Baghdad on Saturday.

In a third attack, the body of fifth American soldier was found in Baghdad after he was injured by a bullet.

Security sources in al-Samawah south of Baghdad announced that three suspects were found, including one of a Syrian nationality, and alleged they were were on their way to carry out suicide attacks during a demonstration that called for removing the governor of the city, Muhammad al-Husani.

In northeast Iraq, four Iraqi police men were injured by a roadside explosion against their vehicle, late Saturday evening. One civilian was killed and another was injured in a bomb explosion along al-Mahmoudeyah area south of Baghdad.

Sources in the Iraqi police said that two women were injured on Sunday when one mortar shelling fell on al-Nour hospital situated east of the west of Baghdad.

The police said that one mass grave including the remains of 30 persons including two women were found in Auwereij area, south of Baghdad, noting that almost 6 months past on burying the bodies.The security forces arrested 13 suspects including one Saudi and one Egyptian in breaking in and inspection operations in the same area.

On the other hand, the Iraqi ministry of the interior said that gunmen kidnapped kazem Jweid, a director general in the central bank, from his house west of Baghdad on Sunday early morning.
