UN extended mission in Iraq

The UN Security Council on Thursday extended for one year the task of the UN supporting mission in Iraq. The council issued unanimously a resolution in the name of its all its 15 member extending until August 11, 2006 the task of the mission which expires today Friday.
The US submitted the extension new resolution. It calls on the UN to help Iraq to develop establishments for a representative government.
