Tariq Aziz permitted to see family

Bade' Aref Izzat, the lawyer for the toppled Iraqi Vice President Tariq Aziz said that the American occupation forces gave permission to Aziz to see members of his family.

Izzat said "It is the first time in which Aziz had been permitted to receive members of his family during his detention," thanking the "American and Iraqi authorities their stances towards that."

Izzat indicated that his client could contact members of his family who are abroad, and that a date was set for the meeting around August 20, noting that Aziz's wife, daughter and grand children will come to Baghdad and "Some 6 members of Tareq Aziz's family will be permitted to visit him."
