Keer is officially Sudan's First Vice President

The leader of the Sudan People's Movement (SPLM) Sylva Keer arrived yesterday in the capital Khartoum. Today, he is to take his oath as the First Vice President of Sudan.
Keer's oath ceremony was postponed for two days until the end of condolences period related to First Vice President John Garang death.
The Second Vice President in Sudan, Ali Othman Taha, presided over an official delegation to offer condolences to the family of Garang in Jouba in southern Sudan. On Tuesday, Taha met with Reibeika, the widow of Garang and discussed with Sylva Keer details of the oath-taking ceremony.
Following the oath ceremony, Keer will form a new coalition government with a majority from the ruling National Congress Party and the SPLM with a small portion for other parties and blocs. Sylva Keer will also preside over the south Sudan government in the interim period which lasts for 6 years.
