Innocent Egyptian released from London's explosions accusation
Egypt-UK, Local, 8/10/2005
The Egyptian authorities released the Egyptian Chemist Majdi al-Nasjhar who was suspected of having links to the first London's explosions which took place on July 7th.
An Egyptian security source said that the Egyptian ministry of interior released al-Nashar after the completion of investigations which proved that he is not involved in these explosions.
Al-Nashar told journalists in Cairo after his release that he was surprised to be suspected of having a role in London's explosions, adding that suspecting him was a great surprise for him because he used to consider London as a lovely place for him after Egypt, because he studied there, and got his doctorate from its university. But he stressed he knows two persons among the suspects in the London's explosions. One of them is from Jamaica and is called Jamal and the second is of Pakistani origin and is called Muhammad and known as Hassib.
Al-Nashar said that Jamal embraced Islam two months before the explosions and that he had asked for the keys to his apartment and said he wanted to stay for a short time in it and "I agreed to that," al-Nashar said, adding he is completely innocent of all these accusations.
Several days after the explosions of July 7th the British papers said it is likely that al-Nashar played a role in making explosives which were used in the attack. Two weeks later new attacks took place in a transport networking in London, no casualties were reported.
Al-Nashar who got a doctorate earlier this year notified the Egyptian authorities that he is coming back to Egypt for a six week vacation and that he has the intention to return back to England.
