Syrian worker is killed near Sidon, Lebanon

The Syrian worker Ghassan Mahmoud al-Ali, 40, was killed in southern Lebanon under mysterious circumstances after disappearance yesterday evening for many hours.

The worker's body was found thrown away in one of the orchards at al-Zahrani area, southern of the Lebanese city of Sidon, after he was killed by a gunshot to the head. Lebanese newspapers today said al-Ali, who worked at the Khalda baker, had disappeared with the delivery Van for several hours before he was found killed in an orchard between al-Najariya and al-Adousyia towns in al-Zahrani area.
