Ebla kingdom Paolo Mattie meets Idleb governor on excavation work

Governor of the Syrian Idleb Province, Atef Mohammed Naddaf, on Sunday discussed with Paolo Mattie, the Italian renowned archeologist and head of the expedition team at the ancient site of Ebla Kingdom, the progress of work in the location.

Mattie briefed the governor with the plans and programs of work during the current excavation seasons and the final restoration works of the area and another one near the gate in which a temple dating back to the Middle Bronze Age was discovered.

He added the other plans of work include excavations at the Manazel area where it is expected to find two temples dating back to the Old and Middle Bronze Ages, pointing out that the current season would be rich with fresh findings.

For his part, the Governor highly appreciated the efforts exerted by Mattie and the Italian archeological team in Ebla Kingdom.

He also briefed Mattie on the steps being taken by his province to maintain and protect such cultural fortune.
