Syria to modernize jails

Syria is serious in her efforts to modernize jails and make them vocational and educational centers, Minister of Justice said Thursday.
In a tour to inspect the justice palace control department, Mohammed al-Ghoufari underlined the ministry's earnest interest to take needed steps to develop prisons and rehabilitate them as well as to empower the justice palace supervision department.
The first general lawyer Marwan al-Louji gave an explanation to the work process at the justice palace and cooperation between the courts and police, in addition to the adopted measures to improve the control department in framework of the ministry eagerness to develop work by implementing the law.
