Normal life returns back to Mauritania

Normal life returned back to Mauritania and national police patrols took the streets, calling via loudspeakers on citizens to return back to their work and practice their daily life naturally.

News reports said that large number of relatives of political detainees and Islamists are gathering near the central prison in Nouakchott waiting for the release of detainees from the Islamic trend.

The party of the toppled president deplored the coupe, while it was welcomed by the opposition who called on the new regime to establish democracy and shorten the period for its interim phase from the stated two years period.

The coalition of the democratic forces called for dealing with the "military council for justice and democracy"which runs the country and puts an end, according to the coalition, to the misdeeds of al-Taye regime.

Leaders of the coupe formed a military council of 18 members and said it will rule the country only for two years. It includes Col. Abdul Rahman Weld Abu Bake, the assistant for the army chief and Col. Muhammad Abdul Aziz the commander of the republic's guards contingent.

The council also includes Col. Negry Flex one of the army chief of staff, Col. Muhammad Weld Muhammad Aznaky the commander the 6th military zone in Nouakchott and Col. Muhammad Weld Abdi, a former assistant for al-Taye.

Meantime, the toppled president arrived in Niger on Wednesday coming from Saudi Arabia. News said he is intended to head for Morocco.
