London's mayor for British pullout from Iraq
Iraq-UK, Politics, 8/5/2005
London's mayor Ken Levingstone called on Thursday for the withdrawal of the British forces form Iraq in order to protect the British capital's security.
In an article published by The Guardian, Levingstone said the protection of the British capital after the explosions that targeted it last month, requires the British forces withdrawal from Iraq and an effective action from the police supported by communities present at the British capital. He added that these things are all linked to each other and the United States has not been capable yet to establish stability in Iraq, the Mayor of London said.
Lebvingstone, who belongs to the labor party in the UK opposed the war on Iraq and effectively took part at demonstrations rejecting the war before the US intervention in Iraq.
Surveys show that many in Brittain, including many noted politicians, see said that the reason for the explosions that took place in London recently is linked to the British policies on Iraq.
