Mrs Mubarak: Damietta first illiteracy-free governorate

Egypt's First Lady Suzanne Mubarak will announce Thursday that Damietta is the first governorate free of illiterate citizens.
This comes as part of efforts exerted to eradicate illiteracy in Egypt. Damietta governorate succeeded in eliminating illiteracy within the 15-45 age group.
Mrs Mubarak is expected to inaugurate Raas Al-Bar area after developing it at a cost of LE 10 million.
On the other hand, Mrs Mubarak will inaugurate together with Minister of Culture Farouk Hosni Thursday morning new Damietta cultural center.
Minister of Culture Farouk Hosni said the center was built over an area of 9339 meters at a cost of LE. 7 million and took 24 months to be completed.
