Egyptian security trains Palestinian security forces
Egypt-Palestine, Politics, 8/4/2005
A delegation of Egyptian officers arrived in the Gaza Strip Wednesday via Rafah crossing to follow up the training of Palestinian security forces formed by the Palestinian Authority to maintain law and order in the areas to be evacuated by the Israeli forces in mid-August.
Well-informed sources said the delegation's visit comes as part of efforts exerted by Egypt to help the PA arrange for the Israeli withdrawal from the Gaza Strip free of trouble.
The Egyptian 14-officers delegation, which will stay in the territories until the end of the current year, is led by Major General Moustafa El-Behiri and includes a Counselor of the Egyptian Embassy in Gaza Ahmed Abdel Khaleq.
