Mummy Hall to be displayed in Palmyra
Syria-Japan, Local, 8/3/2005

Syrian General Directorate for Ruins and Museums has invited the Japanese embassy in Damascus to attend the ceremony of opening "The Mummy Hall" at Palmyra Museum, central Syria, which represents a gift from the Japanese government.

The 9.7-million Yen grant includes audio and video equipment designed for the Mummy Hall, with an integrated system for translation into several languages as well as show windows for the findings at the museum.

The grant is part of Syrian-Japanese culture cooperation in the field of maintaining cultural heritage. The Mummy Hall will be opened Thursday.
