Abdullah is Saudi Arabia's new king
Following the announcement of the death of King Fahd Bin Abdul Aziz, the Saudi royal court on Monday issued a statement in which it said that members of the Royal family appointed crow prince Abdullah Ibn Abdul Aziz as a King. In addition, minister of defense, aviation and general inspector, Prince Sultan Bin Abdul Aziz was appointed as a crown prince.

The Sudan People's Liberation Movement (SPLM) chose Sylva Keer Mayardit as its chairman in succession of its late leader John Garang. Leer used to have the post of the Vice President of the movement, and the leader of its military wing, known as the Sudan People's Liberation Army (SPLA).
