UN decision deplores the escalation of violence in Iraq
Iraq-UN, Politics, 7/29/2005

The UN Security Council condemned the assassination of the Algerian diplomats in Iraq. The US, on the other hand, circulated a draft resolution condemning the escalation of violence in Iraq.

American diplomats said that the draft resolution which falls in one page might be submitted to the UN security council today following a preliminary revision carried out by the UN Security Council experts on Thursday.

The draft resolution urged all members of the UN security council to ban the flow of weapons and sums to what was called by the draft resolution terrorists in Iraq and banning them from entering or departing the Iraqi lands.

The draft resolution urged Iraq's neighbors to work altogether closely to prevent "terrorist acts." It also urged all governments to help in recognizing all those who sponsor or organize or carry out such attacks in Iraq and bring them to the justice.
