Italian Ambassador in Cairo: Sharm el-Sheikh, city of peace
Egypt-Italy, Politics, 7/28/2005

An Italian newspaper published yesterday an article by the Italian ambassador to Egypt in which he reiterated the resumption of the Italian inflow of tourists to Egypt.

In his article, the ambassador confirmed that Sharm el-Sheikh is a city of peace that witnessed the special conference on Iraq late February 2004 as well as the peace conference between the Palestinians and Israelis.

This ensures Egypt's international status and the exerted efforts by President Mubarak to renew climate of trust between the disputing parties.

Sharm el-Sheikh bombings were a desperate step to terrify innocent people and impose a negative impact on the Egyptian economy, the ambassador said, confirming that all tourist agencies said the tourists are insisting on staying in Egypt.
