American soldier killed in Iraq

The American army announced Wednesday in a statement that one soldier from "Task Force Liberty " was killed and other five injured as a result of a blast explosion in their vehicle in Salah Eddine governorate, 180 mm to the north of Baghdad.

Meantime, attacks by booby trapped car continued in Baghdad. One attack carried by a bomber at al-Numan hospital in al-Azameyah quarters in Baghdad resulted in killing at least five persons and injuring other 190.

Three Iraqis were killed and a fourth was injured in Balad city, 160 km north of Baghdad, following an attack by a suicide bomber with an explosive belt.

Also in Baghdad, one mortar shelling fell at a passengers transport garage for "mini buses" working at al-Ltefieh- al-Mahmoudeyah road line. This resulted in killing three persons and injuring 37 in addition to damages in some 15 cars.

Police sources said that ten persons including two Turkish drivers and one member of Karkouk council were killed in various incidents in north Baghdad.

While a source in al-Ishaqi police announced that four bodies were found for Iraqi soldiers who were kidnapped one weak before, medical sources in Musil hospital said it received during the past 24 hours, 16 bodies including the bodies of two policemen and one tribal leader.
