Somali president arrives in interim capital
Somalia, Politics, 7/27/2005
The Somali President Abdullah Youssef Ahmad who was elected in October 2004 arrived in Jawhar city, which he said will be the headquarters for the establishments of this country, which has been suffering civil war since 14 years.
The Somali president told the crowd which received him upon his arrival in the city which is situated in the center of the country "I have come to Jawhar and I will work from here."
Worthy mentioning that the Somali president and his prime minister Ali Muhammad Jedi have differences with several ministers and warlords over the place which will be taken as a headquarters for the Somali government which is in exile.
Both Youssef and Jedi supports the idea that Jawhar, situated 90 km from Mogadishu, to be the headquarters of the administration because stability is not ensured in the capital.
The warlords called, supported by the speaker of the parliament Sharif Hassan, for the return of the government to the capital, Mogadishu.
