19 killed in Sudanese military plane crash
Sudan, Local, 7/26/2005
A Sudanese plane fell in the west of the country and the incident resulted in killing 19 military men including 5 officers on its board.
A statement by the Sudanese army said that the Maig-17 plane fell near Domaya area, west Neyala, the capital of Darfur.
The statement attributed the incident to the bad weather conditions, noting that the plane moved between the two airports of Neyala and al-Fasher in an attempt to land, but the attempt to secure landing failed.
Worthy mentioning that on June 2, five persons were killed and other 29 injured in another Sudanese plane explosion when it was trying to take off from Khartoum airport on its way to Fasher city, the capital of north Darfur.
