Syria-Japan, Business, 7/26/2005

Syria's Industry Minister, Mohammad Ghassan Tayara, on Monday opened a seminar on "Arab Toshiba Company for Electrical House Appliances" at Le Meridian Hotel in Damascus.

Minister Tayara underlined the importance of this seminar in getting people to become familiar with the Arab industry and its quality, adding that allowing these products into the Syrian market will contribute to creating competition among companies whether in price or in quality.

Fahd Darwish, the Appointed Agent of "Arab Toshiba Company" in Syria said that the company seeks to present the best products to the markets throughout its expertise in the field of electronic industries.

He added that his company is manufacturing TV sets under the name of Arab Toshiba, under license from the Japanese World Company of Toshiba, noting that first steps were taken to cooperate with Syrian TV Company of SYRONICS to assemble 34-inch Toshiba TVs in Syria.
