Iraqi police targeted

Iraq on Sunday witnessed a series of acts of assassination against several police officials. The leader of al-Kazemeyah area was killed by gunmen while heading for his office in al-Hurrieh are in Baghdad.

One police man was killed and another wounded when gunmen opened fire at their car in al-Jameaa (university) quarters, to the west of Baghdad.

Two police men were killed in two separate attacks in the capital. In Karkouk, north Iraq, one police officer was killed in the city.

In another attack in al-Hella in south Baghdad, one young girl was killed together with six civilians when a blast went off near a small truck transporting passengers.
