Syrian deputy FM meets Turkish foreign minister

Syria's Deputy Foreign Minister Walid al-Mouallem on Friday conveyed to Turkish Foreign Minister Abdullah Gul a message from Syrian Foreign Minister Farouk al-Shara on the critical situation in the region which necessitates intensification of consultations between the two countries.
The message also shed lights on the positive development of the Syrian-Turkish relations in all domains. In a meeting with Turkish Deputy Foreign Minister Ali Twikan and a number of Turkish senior officials, Mouallem discussed the situation in Iraq and the security measures that Syria has taken on its borders with Iraq. Both sides expressed support to the underway political process in Iraq, asserting Iraq's independence and territorial integrity.
