Bin Sultan resigns, al-Faisal is Saudi Arabia's ambassador in Washington

Saudi Arabia's foreign ministry announced that King Fahd Bin Abdul Aziz accepted the resignation of Prince Bandar Bin Sultan who served as an ambassador for the kingdom in the USA for more than 20 years.

The Saudi foreign ministry said that Prince Turkey al-Faisal, the chairman of the former intelligent department and Saudi Arabia ambassador to Britain will succeed Bandar as an ambassador for Saudi Arabia to Washington.

The statement of the Saudi foreign ministry confined to saying that Prince Bandar, who maintains good relations with several American presidents left his post for "personal reasons after 20 years of remarkable services." The statement added that King Fahd agreed the request of Prince Bander and gave his orders to start measures provide for appointing Turkey al-Faisal to replace him.
