Accusations against an Egyptian of links to London bombs are false
Egypt-UK, Local, 7/20/2005
The British authorities decided not to delegate any investigators to Cairo for following up the investigations with the Egyptian Professor Magdi Al-Nashar on suspicion of his link with the London blasts
Meantime, an Egyptian top security source said that there is full security cooperation with the British side in this regard.
He added that the British Security agencies have ascertained that Nashar had no hand in such blasts.
In press statements to AI-Ahram daily, the top security source said that the British authorities are convinced of the Egyptian investigations that proved Al-Nashar's acquittal, noting that the British side trusts the Egyptian security agency.
He added that the British agencies hailed the Egyptian role in combating terrorism and the Egyptian full cooperation with various security agencies.
The source stressed that Al-Nashar will not be released now, dismissing the media reports, on the access of his release.
The source, moreover, confirmed that he will not be freed before the end of the investigations.
In addition, the Bar Association under Sameh Ashour decided to entrust a team of lawyers with defending Al-Nashar. On his part, Ashour demanded the immediate release of the Egyptian professor, confirming that he categorically rejects to extradite Al-Nashar as this contradicts with the Egyptian Constitution and praised the Public Prosecutor's stance in this respect.
