Egyptian exports reach $7.7 billion in 2004

Egypt's Minister of Foreign Trade and Industry Rasheed Mohamed Rasheed pointed out that the Egyptian exports achieved their highest rate in five years in 2004 as they were valued at $7.695 billion, up by $1.508 billion compared with 2003.
Textile exports increased during the first three months of 2005 to $153 million compared with $145 million in the same period a year earlier, up by 62%. Food industries surged up from $34 million to $ 55 million, up by 5%.2
Total Egyptian exports during the last fiscal year hit LE50.308 billion, with an increase of 20.6%, he said adding that industrial exports amounted to LE 21.150 billion during the same period.
Non-petroleum exports went up from $1024 million to $ 1178 million, with an increase of 15% while petroleum exports went up from 783 million to $887 million, up by 13%.
