Sanyoura wants good relations with Syria
Lebanon, Politics, 7/20/2005
Lebanese Prime Minister Fouad Sanyoura announced on Tuesday names of the members of his new government which includes 24 members.
In a press conference after announcing the new government, Sanyoura underlined that Syria and Lebanon are two "sisterly countries and have joint interests, future and history."
"No one can change geography... nothing can separate the two countries," Sanyoura added.
He also underlined that the new government will do the best to have correct relations based on mutual respect. He stressed Lebanon's desire to establish good relations with Syria based on the reciprocal respect according to the pan-Arab and national principles.
Sanyoura, in a press conference after meeting President Emile Lahoud and briefing him on the results of his consultations to form a new government, said that "interest of the Lebanese people always lies in finding good and permanent common grounds between Syria and Lebanon." "Dignity of the Syrian citizens in Lebanon is similar to their Lebanese counterpart dignity in Syria....we must not allow any Syrian citizen to be insulted in Lebanon and vice-versa," Sanyoura concluded.
Earlier, President Emil Lahoud of Lebanon issued a decree to form the Lebanese new government.
