Al-Thawra: Terrorist accusations against Syria unfair

The American tourist David Comer who recently visited Damascus underlined that his feeling of security in Damascus ancient markets was greater than what he felt in New York, al-Thawra daily said Monday.
"Damascus is more secure than New York, but the Americans are afraid of the Arabs... they believe that all the Arabs are terrorists... all these allegations are unjust and I am not afraid," The paper quoted Comer as saying.
Syria says that the future expectations in the field of tourism are bright and it succeeded in its tourist marketing policy in spite of all the "false allegations" directed against Syria, the daily stressed.
Tourism revenues are expected to increase from USD 2.2 billion in 2004 to USD 2.8 billion in 2005.
The number of the visitors exceeded 3 million tourist in 2004, which is anticipated to over mount in 2005 by7 no less than 600,000 tourists.
