Lebanese figures: Syria protects Lebanon

Secretary General of the Democratic Nasserite Movement in Lebanon, Khaled Rawas, said Monday Syria, as always, has stood by Lebanon during its ordeal and protected its civil peace throughout several decades.
"Priorities of Lebanon's new government should work to bring back fraternal and confidence ties with Syria," Rawas said in a statement. He called for enhancing all agreements signed between both states "to face plots being hatched against them."
