29 persons killed in Baghdad attacks

Some 29 persons were killed and other 100 injured in a series of suicide attacks and armed operations that took place in Baghdad and targeted the American forces and the Iraqi police forces.

The heaviest results of killing was recorded in a booby trapped car explosion targeting an inspection point for the Iraq army in al-Shaab area in the north east of the capital, and this resulted in killing 8 persons and injuring other 15 most of them are members in the Iraqi army.

Three members of the Kurdish Bashmerka police forces were killed and other 8 injured in a suicide bomb explosion that targeted individuals protecting the headquarters of the Iraqi President Jalal al-Talibani in the center of Baghdad.

Three police members were killed and other two injured in one attack by unidentified gunmen against an inspection point in the north east of Baghdad.

Two Iraqi soldiers were killed and other 14 injured in a booby trapped car explosions by a suicide bomber at the main entrance of the former Iraqi ministry of defense in Bab al-Mu'azzam area. The source said that one American soldier was hit in the attack.

Meantime, one suicide bomber detonated his booby trapped car near an Iraqi vehicle in al-Andalus square in the center of the city and this resulted in killing two Iraqi soldiers and injuring other 6.

Two Iraqi soldiers were killed and a third injured when one bike exploded driven by one suicide bomber who broke into an Iraqi inspection point in the north of Baghdad, according sources in the Iraqi army.
