24 Iraqis, American killed in a booby trapped explosion

Medical and military sources in Iraq said that 24 Iraqis were killed and at least 18 injured on Wednesday in a suicide attack by a booby trapped car that targeted an American military vehicle in Baghdad.

The American army said the explosion resulted in killing one American soldier and large number of Iraqi civilians including at least seven Iraqi children.

One colonel and a police man were killed and other 6 persons were injured including three police men in various incidents that took place in Baghdad on Wednesday, according to sources in the Iraqi ministry of the interior.

In east Iraq, the Iraqi police said that one suicide bomber detonated himself before mosque for the Sunni in Jaloula near the Iranian borders and this resulted in killing two and injuring other 16.
