Lebanese tourist investments in Syria

Chairman of the Lebanese Tourist Syndicates Union, Pier al-Ashker, on Tuesday said that Syria in the forthcoming days will witness tourist projects by Lebanese investors, adding that Syria benefits from the Lebanese experience in the field of tourist industry.
He stressed the necessity for developing the quality of tourism in Syria due to the strong competition from the neighboring countries. He estimated that the number of the Lebanese tourists reach 1,300,000 annually who move between the two states.
In this regard a number of Lebanese investors announced that they will start investment in two new tourist sites in Syria with a capital estimated at $ 100 million.
On the other hand, a British-German Group intends to invest in Syria next year with a capital estimated at $ 200 million.
In a statement to al-Thawra daily on Tuesday, Head of the Syrian-Saudi Business Council stressed that an international investment will be launched in Syria during the next two months with a capital estimated at $ 10 million.
