Abu Zeid: Nile map-charting implemented

Minister of Irrigation and Water Resources Dr. Mahmoud Abu Zeid stressed that the second stage of drawing the complete topographic charts of the River Nile is currently implemented so as to study the morphologic changes that took place in the Nile since 1979.
Abu Zeid said the project includes drawing hydrological charts and modern digital ones to the Nile stream behind the High Dam till the Mediterranean and Rasheed and Damietta branches with a total length of 1440 km. and it is to be ended by 2007. The project will also determine the places liable to sinking at the sides of the river.
