Plan to blow up Iraq's ministry of interior stopped

The Iraqi minister of the interior announced the detention of members of what he called a secret organization linked to Abu Musab al-Zarqawi "intending to blow up the whole of the Iraqi Ministry Of Interior."
The minister said in a press conference that there was an attempt to infiltrate the "Maghaweer" forces by a military secret organization inside the second mechanical contingent "affiliated to the ministry" with the aim of implementing assassination operations of many officers inside contingents and thereby blowing up the whole of the Ministry Of Interior."
He explained that this organization includes 8 senior officers and members in the second mechanical contingent which belongs to the ministry. He said that those officers were appointed in the ministry one year ago "before I came to the ministry and they are now under detention," in remarks to the former government of Eyad Allawi.
In another development, al-Qaida Jihad organization in Iraq claimed responsibility on a site on the Internet for the assassination of "a leading figure in Bader contingent" of the Higher Council For Islamic Revolution (Shi'ite organization) led by Abdul Aziz al-Hakim. The statement said "Filaq Bader ( Bader contingent) of the organization assassinated the leading figure in Bader contingent in al-Doura area to the south of Baghdad.
To the north of Baghdad unidentified gunmen killed a member in the municipal council of Salah Eddine governorate.
In Tikrit in the same governorate a photographer in Reuters TV said that the Iraqi police clashed with some 1,000 demonstrators who controlled the headquarters of the police in the city.
A government's spokesman said that one police man killed and wounded three demonstrators who called for the resignation of the police and the regional ruler and held them and their tribes responsible for the killing of Ghaleb al-Takriti from a rival tribe.
In Musil ( 370 km) to the north of Baghdad, three Iraqis were killed and other 46 were injured when 12 mortars fell at al-Dawasah and Prophet ( Chaith ) suburbs.
