Tishrin: Syria signs contracts on railways projects

The General Establishment of al-Hijaz railways signed a contract with a cost of $ 54 million with a Lebanese company of Rock Wall to build a railway between Damascus and Damascus Airport.
"The project is considered as one of the most important projects which contributes to supporting the infrastructure in Syria and will yield financial revenues amounted to SP 3,7 billions," Director of planning at the establishment Nabil Abdul Karim said in statement to Tishrin newspaper published Thursday.
He pointed out that the project will help in attracting new investments in the surrounding areas of the project as well as in creating a social development and job opportunities.
Mr. Karim indicated that the establishment is interested in investing the narrow railways according to B.O.T (Build-operate-transfer) such as Damascus-Dara'a, Damascus Serghayi and Damascus -Qatana railways.
