Syria seeks Malaysian help to build Tram in Damascus

Syria studied on Wednesday with a Malaysian company for railways the tram project that will cross the western part of the capital Damascus to the east of the city.
Syria's minister of transportation Makram Obeid talked with Malaysian M Trans company head over obstacles facing the tram tracks and the suggested solutions. M Trans company is specialized in buses and trains production.
Obeid told SANA the project line is nine km long which will start from the western side of the city, go across to Bab Sharqi and end at the Mowasat hospital in the eastern part of the city.
"The aim of the project is to get a modern and developed way of transportation that will contribute to get rid in a big way of () jams in addition to provide Syrians with speed and comforts," the minister said.
