Syria urges pressure on Israel to stop violations

Syria's Deputy Foreign Minister Walid al-Mouallem called on Wednesday upon the international community "to realize Israel's violations of the UN resolutions and put pressures on it to establish the just and comprehensive peace in the Middle East."
In statements to journalist after meeting delegation of the UN Special Committee to investigate Israeli practices affecting the Human Rights of the Palestinian people and other Arabs of the occupied territories, Mouallem said the visit of the delegation poses as indicator of the international community's interest to look for the reality of the Israeli practices and its violation of the UN resolutions as well to Geneva convention and international law.
"The international community must realize this reality and put genuine pressures on Israel as to establish the just and comprehensive peace," Deputy Foreign Minister said.
He underlined that Syria has documents that "prove the Israeli nonstop breaches of human rights in the occupied Arab territories in addition to the Israeli breaches against our folks on the Syrian occupied Golan."
For his part, Head of the UN delegation Parasad Kariawasan, voiced regret over Israel's non-implementation of the international resolutions related to its violations of human rights that the mission is annually presenting to the UN General Assembly.
He noted the mission task "is to turn the international community attention to these breaches which would continue unless an appropriate mechanism is applied to put an end to." Earlier, Mouallem demanded the international community and members of the UN Security Council to assume their responsibility and pressure Israel as well oblige it to implement the UN Security Council resolutions to consolidate the UN role on the international arena.
He noted to the "racist Israeli practices against the Arab citizens in the occupied territories and what the Syrian detainees on the occupied Golan are suffering in the occupation jails of a violation of their rights." The UN delegation head pointed out to the "riskness," of building the racial separation wall in the West Bank.
Mouallem underlined in the meeting with the UN delegation "Syria's keenness on building the just and comprehensive peace in the Middle East in accordance to the international resolutions and the Arab peace in Beirut summit."
