Delegation of UN Committee on Israeli practices in Syria
Syria-UN, Politics, 7/6/2005
Delegation of the UN Special Committee to investigate Israeli practices affecting the Human Rights of the Palestinian people and other Arabs of the occupied Territories arrived on Tuesday in Syria through border-passing point in Dara'a, southern Syria.
"The committee visit which includes Syria, Jordan, Egypt and Lebanon comes due to Israel's prevention of its entrance to the occupied Arab territories to investigate Arab citizens' conditions under the Israeli occupation," Chairman of the delegation said Tuesday in a statement to SANA in Dara'a.
The visit is to listen to the Arab citizens' witnesses who are under the Israeli occupation and affected by the Israeli daily practices, the delegation committee chairman said, pointing out that testimonies will be obtained to evaluate the situation relating to the human rights issues in these territories.
