Al-Qaida claims responsibility for kidnapping Egyptian ambassador in Iraq

Al-Qaida organization in Mespotamia claimed responsibility for the kidnapping of the Egyptian ambassador in Iraq Eyhab al-Sharif while operations targeted foreign diplomats in Iraq were escalated.

Al-Qaida organization claimed responsibility for the kidnapping operation of the Egyptian ambassador. This was expressed in a statement in the Internet. The Egyptian diplomat was kidnapped near his house in al-Mansour quarter in Baghdad three days earlier.

Al-Qaida statement which was signed by Abu Maseera al-Iraqi said that the Egyptian ambassador is in the hands of what he called Mujahideen noting that more information will be issued later, giving no more details.
