Syria adopts all required measures to control borders with Iraq: former Iraqi minister
Syria-Iraq, Politics, 7/5/2005
Syria took all the required measures to control her joint borders with Iraq, former Iraqi Interior Minister said Sunday, stressing that border security on the Iraqi side is an Iraqi responsibility and "It is unfair to hold Syria the responsibility of both border's security."
"Syria has offered every possible help and support to preserve Iraq's security, stability and unity," Minister Falah al-Naqeeb told reporters during a press conference in the Syrian Capital.
The minister hailed Syria's pan-Arab stances regarding Arab causes, asserting the necessity of preserving Iraq's Arabism and unity.
"It is important for the Iraqi people to surmount the hard situation they live," al-Naqeeb said, warning against bids of stirring up sedition in the country.
