Syrian troops fully withdrew from Lebanon, chief of staff says
Syria-Lebanon, Politics, 7/5/2005

Syria's Army Chief of Staff, Lieut. Gen. Ali Habib, on Sunday said Syria has implemented its part of the UN resolution 1559 and withdrew all troops and intelligence agents from Lebanon since 26 April, adding that UN verification team sent to the region has acknowledged that Syria fully withdrew from there.

"Syria's stance towards Lebanon, in addition to the distinguished relations based on geography, history and kinship links are the factors of the continuation of the fraternal ties between the two neighboring countries," Lieut. Gen. Habib said during a celebration of graduating a new batch of army political officers.
