AU discusses Mubarak's initiative to set up center to treat AIDS

Ambassador Nasser Shamel, Egypt's Permanent Representative to the African Union (AU) said yesterday the AU Executive Council will discuss at a meeting in Serte President Hosni Mubarak's initiative to set up an African center to treat AIDS and contagious diseases.
It will also discuss launching an African satellite channel and Egypt's hosting of a French-African summit in 2009, Shamel said. A number of financial and administrative issues are also to figure high on the meeting's agenda.
