Two men extradited by Syria sentenced to prison under anti-terrorism law

Rabat Appeal Court sentenced Friday two Moroccans, extradited by Syria, to prison under the anti-terrorism law enacted in May 2003.
Mimoun Belhaj was sentenced to three years in prison, while Abdelhay Asaassi was sentenced to two years. They were arrested on February 1st in Syria and extradited to Morocco.
The two individuals were sued for "constitution of a criminal gang, practicing activities within an unauthorized association, holding unauthorised public meeting, forging and using a forged passport and assault and battery."
