Sheikh Sabah hopes Gulf women to take similar steps like Kuwaitis

The Kuwaiti prime minister Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmad al-Sabah has expressed his hope that the participation of women in the political life will enrich democracy and be an incentive for women in Kuwait and other Gulf states.
Sheikh Sabah said in a speech he had delivered at George Washington University, in Washington, which awarded him with honorary doctorate, "we all hope and have confidence that the participation of the Kuwaiti woman in the political life will be a the basic tributary to enriching political activity and democracy in Kuwait."
He expressed hope that the decision taken to permit Kuwaiti woman to take part in the elections as a voter and a candidate will be an impetus for "the Kuwaiti and Arab Gulf women towards taking part in the process of growth and development."
