The activities of 8th Exhibition of Communication Technologies and Data in the Arab Countries, ArabCom 2005 began in Tunis on Wednesday with the participation of the Minister of Communications and Technology Mohammed Basheer Mounajed.

In his address at the opening ceremony, Tunisian Minister of Communications Technology, Mountasser Wayli reviewed his country's efforts to boost the digital economy and to develop the electronic services.

For her part, Head of ArabCom, Katya Tayyar, reviewed the important role of Arab COM in boosting joint Arab cooperation which has contributed to a real revolution that has taken place in the use of modern communications technologies in the Arab states.
