Continued attacks in Iraq

Three Iraqi police men were killed. They were members of the Iraqi ministry of the interior. Other six were injured in confrontations took place with gunmen in the first officer's quarters in Samera to the north of Baghdad on Wednesday.

In Telafer to the north of Iraq, two Iraqis were killed and other 8 injured when four mortars fell at teachers residential quarters to the west of the city.

In another development, two persons were injured in an attack by missiles near a headquarter of al-Muthanna governorate in al-Samawah city where the Japanese forces are positioned. A British military spokesman said that no casualties were reported in the lines of the Japanese soldiers.

The Iraqi forces supported by the American forces detained in Baqouba to the north east of Baghdad 35 suspects and confiscated amounts of weapons since Tuesday evening.
