Youth gather in Laayoune to share development ideas and expertise

The second International Forum of the Youth and Peace opened, in Laayoune Tuesday, to discuss means to foster development objectives.
The gathering, held under the motto "training, a step towards development" and sponsored by the association "Vie pour l'environnement et le developpement de Laayoune" in cooperation with the "Maillage Network," is attended by young people from Yemen, Djibouti, Syria, Guinea Conakry, Comoros, Mauritania, Niger, France, the United States and Morocco. The forum called on supporting the Moroccan Initiative for Human Development (INDH) launched lately to promote human related services like housing, water, health and infrastructure construction.
The sub-themes of the meeting revolve around the youth and development, environment, cultural dialog for peace, as well as human resource training and capability building. Roundtables are debating issues on voluntary work, solidarity for the construction of a common future and financial and administrative management. Governor of the La‰youne-Boujdour-Sakia Al Hamra region, Cherki Drais said the forum is an opportunity for the youth to share opinions and viewpoints on development as well as their experience in various fields.
