Bahrain: a demonstration against publishing Khamena's caricature
Bahrain-Iran, Politics, 6/29/2005

Some 400 Bahraini demonstrated on Monday in front of the headquarters of the Bahraini daily al-Ayam in al-Jafeer area, to the east of the capital Manama, in protest of a caricature published by the paper two days earlier targeting the spiritual guide of the Islamic Republic of Iran Ayatullah Ali Khamena.

The demonstrators who carried the pictures of Khamena chanted slogans against the paper and its caricaturist Khaled al-Hashimi saying "loyalty, loyalty for Ali Khamena."

The caricature which was published on the paper's last page includes a portray for Khamena with his beard extended to a list on the results of the presidential elections in Iran as a rising mark, implicitly shows his support for the new elected Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadi Najad.
