Syria, Jordan to sign plan on bio-diversity

Ministries of Agriculture in Syria and Jordan are due to sign Wednesday a Memorandum of Understanding in the framework of regional cooperation to protect agrarian biological diversity and exchange of genetic resources among the two states, Lebanon and Palestine depending on regional and international support to this plan.
Assistant Minister of Agriculture and Agrarian Reform Hassan Ibrahim told SANA Tuesday that "the four countries lie in one of three important zones of agriculture biological diversity in the world." He added that this diversity is "very important not only for the region but also for humanity and world scientific progress and food security.
