Lahoud: Enemies of Lebanon behind acts of assassination
Lebanon, Politics, 6/28/2005

"Enemies of Lebanon are behind the latest acts of assassination," Lebanon's President Emile Lahoud said Monday.

"Lebanon, during the last months, has witnessed difficult and hard events that can bring it back to crucial times and hurt all national and pan-Arab achievements," President Lahoud added during a meeting with an expatriates delegation from the Dominican.

He underlined that the new Lebanese government will stabilize the national reconciliation and boost ties among all Lebanese.

Meanwhile, Deputy Leader of the Supreme Shiite Islamic Council in Lebanon Abdulamir Kabalan stressed commitment to resistance and its weapons.

Kabalan, during a speech in the Lebanese southern city of Sidon, said that Israel still poses a threat to Lebanon and violates its airspace, adding that weapons will remain in the hands of resistance to deter any violation Israel might take against Lebanon.
